Bon Secours Mercy Health Finance Program Manager, Diversified Growth (Remote) in Cincinnati, Ohio

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Finance Program Manager, Diversified Growth provides financial reporting for the system’s early-stage companies and growth platforms including ASCs, Retail Imaging, Urgent Care and other businesses within the health services industry. This position will facilitate the financial performance reporting, budgets, analysis, as well as providing operational support to the Ambulatory Ventures and Innovations groups within Diversified Growth. The associate will also coordinate with other departments as necessary including Revenue Management, Finance, Accounting, and Strategy.

Essential Functions

  • Compile and interpret information received from various sources for KPI reporting, the annual financial plan, forecasts, long-term financial projections and on-going performance. Draw conclusions related to such information and recommend appropriate actions and follow-up.

  • Develops reporting packages and presentations to senior leadership to communicate results and evaluate opportunities.

  • Monitor and track key initiatives, expense related to new clients, and assist in the compilation and review of new initiatives, including their impact to Bon Secours Mercy Health.

  • Performs financial analyses including productivity, contract reconciliation and analysis, transaction review/analysis for strategic projects, profitability and loss analysis, expense and charge structure, compensation, pro forma and budgeting, and other analyses necessary to support the accuracy and sustainability of ambulatory operations and population health functions across the System.

  • Facilitate the detailed financial planning process for these functions including, but not limited to, monthly close reviews, forecasting, detailed budgeting, and productivity management. Support and assist in the annual budget process including development of tools for completing budgets as well as back-end analytics for analyzing projections and trends.

  • Support the ongoing system initiatives for enhanced reporting of financial and operational results across the various entities the position oversees.

  • Develop and maintain a constructive relationship with numerous counterparts to facilitate exchange of information, support for system financial issues and awareness of market financial issues.

  • Build and analyze ambulatory models from a Finance perspective, assessing variation and opportunities as directed and in a manner consistent with the guidelines set forth by the System.

Employment Qualifications

  • Required: 4 year/ Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration with a focus on finance and/or accounting (with adequate understanding of healthcare finance)

  • Preferred: Graduate Degree (Masters) in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration or closely related field (with adequate understanding of healthcare finance)

  • Knowledge of finance, healthcare, ASC Industry preferred, normally achieved through 3+ years relevant industry experience.

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to think globally, formulates business strategies, create action plans, influence outcomes and drive results.

  • Ability to plan, organize, maintain priorities and schedule, to ensure that deadlines are met. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Knowledge and ability in the financial forecasting, business plan development and budgeting processes.

  • Ability to speak in front of small and large groups. Ability and desire to deal with detail and place in context of the big picture.

  • Excellent people skills and ability to work with diverse individuals in a complex organization and establish strong, cooperative working relationships.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills including the ability to identify trends and business opportunities and create recommendations.

  • Knowledge of health care industry trends, state and federal regulations including Medicare and Medicaid conditions and payment systems. Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement and the valuation of accounts receivable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software tools is vital (Excel & PowerPoint especially).. Strong analytical, verbal and presentation skills; experience in financial analysis and modeling; Ability to establish relationships with internal customers and physicians. A broad knowledge of the healthcare industry.

  • Ability to accurately mine data from various internal and external sources and organize information in a meaningful way for presentation and analysis. Must possess critical thinking skills, an ability to work cooperatively with others and have a positive, willing attitude.

  • Able to travel to various Market locations within BSMH as necessary.
