StandardAero's Component Services Sector is in search of a Director of Repair Development Center of Excellence (RDCoE) to manage all aspects of repair development and new product introduction. The ideal candidate would have specific experience in developing and implementing repair processes specific to aero- and aero-derivative gas turbine engine components. As a Director, Repair Development Center of Excellence you'll ensure technical tasks are completed in accordance with customer, regulatory and corporate requirements, on budget and on time. Identify and implement measures to reduce costs, reduce cycle time, improve quality, improve innovation and develop people. Manage and direct engineering personnel, including production repair and repair development. What you'll do: Responsible for the completion of all technical tasks in line with customer and corporate expectations, budgets and schedules. Review and approve proposals, recommend and implement cost-saving or time-saving changes. Manages, leads and develop department personnel Make hiring decisions (in conjunction with others), conduct performance reviews, recommends salary actions, reward and recognize employees and carry out disciplinary actions when necessary. Monitor and assign people to their respective jobs. Set goals and expectations for employees in the Engineering Department. Primarily hold engineering employees accountable for performance. Ensure that repair engineering data is in compliance with corporate and regulatory policies Coordinate with other members of the management team and keep them informed of project status and performance versus budget/schedule. Review and approve project budgets and schedules for the Engineering Department. Make recommendations regarding staffing levels, facilities, equipment, training, etc. Stay informed of current trends and practices in the engineering field. Review the state-of-the art engineering developments and makes recommendations to the management team on cost-effective additions and/or modifications to meet department and corporate goals. May perform other duties as required. Position Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Current or past DER delegation is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience. 5+ years of supervisory experience is preferred. Prior Repair / MRO background is required. Working knowledge of gas turbine engine theory and performance is desirable. Understanding of regulatory requirements and OEM ESM structure highly desirable. Must be able to plan, schedule and allocate resources effectively and efficiently. Ability to handle multiple projects and multiple deadlines. Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to keep a cool head in a high-stress, high-energy environment. Must be able to quickly analyze a situation and make wise decisions. Leadership skills including ability to develop and mentor a diverse staff. Ability to influence a team inside and outside of the engineering department. Certificate or training in Lean / CI techniques is highly desirable.
