Matthews International Corporation Controls Engineer - Entry Level in Cincinnati, Ohio

POSITION SUMMARY Travel to customer locations in the United States; travel is 65% of the time (all company paid, you keep all airline miles, hotel and rental car points). Work on site in a 10 day on, 4 day off format. Matthews will fly you home for your off days, or fly out your significant other. The Controls Engineer assists in the design and development of PLC programs for material handling equipment. Works with integrators to create programs designed to enhance their distribution center and warehouses. This position understands equipment, business and customer requirements that drive the design of the technical solutions and. participates in all phases of product development lifecycle, including the analysis, design, electrical designs, installation support, electrical installation debugging and support of other complimentary engineering staff associated with the electrical hardware engineering. The Controls Engineer resolves somewhat complex site requirement changes, and support solutions to complete designed equipment installation. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Programs systems to support equipment operations. * Interfaces with internal engineering/project management and customers to determine system requirements. * Supports electrical installation via interfacing to electrical installers. * Debugs electrical installation of controls and motor components of somewhat difficult complexity. * Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. * 1+ years previous professional engineering experience or internship experience preferred. Recent college grads are encouraged to apply. * Regular travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required. * High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications. * Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills. * Strong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning). * Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts. * Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients. * Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment. * Ability to work with and influence peers and management. * Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting. #LI-RC2 PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; talk, hear and see.
