GCBHS has immediate opening for Benefit Specialist to serve adults who are experiencing mental health and substance use disorder. This individual will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of clients Job and Family Service benefits including but not limited to: initial application, interim reporting, and recertification. Complete clinically appropriate interviews with individuals and collateral persons/agencies to complete SSI/SSDI applications, including a detailed Medical Summary Report. Conducts initial and/or on-going assessment and verification of client Medicaid coverage, resources/income, fees, eligibility for JFS benefits, benefit status and benefit entitlements. Assist, monitor and troubleshoot process and collaborate with other involved GCB staff until benefits are acquired. Meets with clients for benefits counseling to assess and help them understand their JFS benefits and any required documentation/verifications. Track and monitor all approvals and denials and the rationale for the decision. Liaison with community partners to assist with clients obtaining and retaining JFS benefits. Position Requirements for Benefits Specialist Bachelor's or Master's degree in a Human Services field or High School diploma and a minimum of three years experience in Behavioral Health or Human Services related field. Position requires occasional driving of own vehicle. Valid driver's license and vehicle may be required.
