Job Summary The Accounting Internship will provide the student with relevant skills in a variety of accounting functions by assisting the accounts payable shared service activities of processing and payment of invoices in a timely manner, proper three-way matching of purchasing and receiving documents, correct distribution to general ledger accounts, and proper filing and storage of records. On-Site in Cincinnati, OH Spring/Summer/Fall opportunity Key Duties Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities: Assist with the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable including, but not limited to: Accurately matching purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices. Coding invoices with correct general ledger code and sales tax code, as appropriate. Resolving inconsistencies in paperwork in a timely fashion. Determining proper use tax liability prior to processing of invoices/payments. Obtains proper approvals and payment authorizations. Response to vendor calls and inquiries in a prompt and professional manner. When appropriate, escalates issues to immediate supervisor to ensure maintenance of good vendor relationships. Assist with generating payments on a weekly basis for all U.S. business units. Generating an open payables report prior to generating checks. Processing of weekly payments on behalf of all business units. Generating all payment runs for electronic payments, including intercompany, wire and ACH. Processing payments in all required currencies, primarily Euro and USD. General Accounts Payable exposure Processing data entry for voided checks. Assist in Annual preparation of 1099's. Timely filing of accounts payable invoices, remittance advices and other documents including preparation for offsite storage. Adherence to company policies and procedures. Accurate and timely filing of various state and local business licenses and payment of applicable fees, including annual renewals and quarterly tax payments via check or EFT. Other Duties: Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the course of the workday in a multi-location facility. Ability to sit for long periods of time, bend, reach, twist through the course of the workday. Must be able to concentrate, analyze and solve complex issues throughout the course of the work shift. Ability to work on PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse for long periods throughout the course of the work day. Qualifications Minimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred: Actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited University with a major in Accounting, Finance, Business or other related program.
