Divi Carina Bay Casino Maintenance Technician in Christiansted, Virgin Islands

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform routine and requested maintenance using blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions to obtain dimensions and complete various tasks. TASKS: 1. Perform general maintenance work to include repair, fabrication, paneling, ceiling, concrete work, painting, minor AC maintenance, laminate plastics, and other related duties as assigned. 2. Responsible for informing Lead Technician of inventories levels regarding tools, parts and supplies. 3. As directed by Lead Technician or Operations Manager, inspect property for safety and security issues, including but not limited to non-functioning lights, ground and trip hazards, exposed wires, pot-holes, sewer line breaks, and roof leaks. 4. Ensure adherence to company safety standards, policies, and procedures, in accordance with occupational safety and health administration guidelines. 5. Repair and maintain property plumbing, electrical, mechanical and security systems. 6. Pick up litter throughout the casino parking lot. 7. Perform other tasks assigned by Lead or Operations manager. CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Must be at least 21 years old and must be able to obtain a US Virgin Islands Gaming Work Permit/License. EDUCATION OR SKILLS REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in a maintenance related trade. Physical ability and skill to use normal tools and equipment associated with trade. High ambulatory mobility to enable a person to respond to any type of emergency or service call and ability to effectively communicate by way of 2-way radio or pager system. Must be able to erect and work on scaffolding. Must be able to work with little or no supervision. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: The following activities are normally required to perform these functions: stand, walk, bend, reach, read, write, eye to hand coordination, depth perception, effective verbal communication, strong math skills, excellent organizational skills. Able to lift minimum 40 lbs. HAZARDS: Include, but are not limited to neck and back strain, eye strain, stress, and related disorders.
