Citigroup Officer, Futures Middle Office Operation Associate in Chiyoda, Japan

Business Overview / Position Objective

Citi Global Markets Japan is seeking for a candidate to join Markets Middle Office organization who will perform middle office functions in Futures Derivative and Clearing team.

The team's main coverage is listed future and options at JSCC and TFX.

We are looking for a candidate who has experiences in exchange listed future and options, OTC client clearing with a mindset of being a team player.

The person will be responsible for routine tasks in middle office and work closely with front office, IT, Finance to ensure trades are booked correctly and margin requirements are met in a timely manner.

The person will jointly work with team in Singapore and has daily interaction with the team, which is great opportunity to expose to offshore colleagues.

The candidate will also have opportunities to participate in various projects including the implementation and support of new regulation, automation/digitization, new trading initiatives and systems, in accordance with their level of experience and development.

Position Responsibilities:

  • CCP Margin (JSCC/TFX): Manage daily Initial Margin and Variation Margin requirement & payments with domestic exchanges and clients on listed future products.

  • Client Margin: Process daily margin statements to domestic clients, affiliates.

  • Trade Management: Ensure that trades are captured correctly in the booking system by performing trade reconciliation with exchanges and clients.

  • Reconciliation: Perform exchange reconciliation, GL reconciliation and account substantiation.

  • Client Services: Handle Japanese clients’ inquiries on both exchange listed products and OTC client clearing.

  • Projects: Be involved in market initiatives and system enhancements as Subject Matter Expert.

  • Supervisory Responsibility: Governance and oversight of outsourced daily coverage performed by Singapore team.

Required Skills:

  • Listed derivative and OTC client clearing knowledge in JSCC strongly preferred.

  • Offshore exchange knowledge such as LCH, ICE is preferred.

  • ​Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Fluent in English, Native level in Japanese languages.

  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills. Flexibility to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environment and under time pressure.

  • Pay attention to detail and can accurately perform regular tasks.

  • Team player and excellent interpersonal skills to develop relationships both internally and externally to collaborate effectively.

  • Self-starter - Proactively take on tasks. Ask questions when it is not clear. Willing to get involved in new initiatives.
