System One Electrical/Instrumentation Maintenance Supervisor in Chillicothe, Ohio

Direct hire (permanent) opportunity.

Role

To effectively supervise and plan for skilled maintenance craftspeople performing the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment in the assigned area of responsibility.

Accountabilities

To provide for the effective and timely completion of maintenance work by supervising, scheduling, and planning the manpower, materials and equipment of maintenance, and by scheduling and coordinating contract maintenance. The successful candidate will apply practical knowledge of the work, tools, materials, and equipment used by the crafts under the maintenance function in estimating and scheduling the work. The successful candidate will be required, at times to help in other areas of the mill.

The E/I Maintenance Supervisor is required to work closely with production and other supervisors throughout the plant in making estimates, determining priorities, and scheduling the crafts. In addition, they must be able to handle deadlines, variable workloads, and being on call 24 hours, when needed.

Primary Duties

  • Responsible for supervising jobs/crew, requisitioning parts, maintaining work specifications, and scheduling work, as needed.

  • Responsible for the supervisor functions around a planned maintenance shutdown. At times will be required to attend planning meetings, create computer generated Gantt charts and meet/schedule outside contractors. Must work closely with operations, other maintenance personnel, engineering, purchasing, and outside contractors on a daily basis.

  • Ensures that the predictive and preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to timely while also managing day to day electrical troubleshooting, timely issue resolution and electrical improvement activities.

  • Effectively communicate between the maintenance teams and all other mill operations teams.

  • Responsible for prioritization and managing the backlog of work utilizing SAP maintenance.

  • Report on backlog, planned work and cost performance.

  • Work with Purchasing department on repairs, rebuilds and procurement of equipment and parts.

  • Administer the contract labor agreement with the local union. Execute the bid process on appropriate work. Understand and follow all contractual procedures around outsourcing of work.

  • Confirm and keep daily time for hourly workforce.

  • Enable the Electrical/Instrumentation crew to work safely through training, monitoring, continuous coaching and mentoring.

    Qualifications

  • Two (2) year technical degree or equivalent desired; BS in electrical engineering preferred.

  • Five (5) years electrical/instrumentation experience in an industrial environment.

  • Ability to handle deadlines, variable workloads, and being on call, as required.

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

  • SAP experience (particularly SAP Maintenance) desired.

  • Microsoft Project experience, a plus.
