Key Responsibilities

• Participate in site HSE and Process Safety Management programs, including: Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Root Cause Analysis/Incident Investigations, and development of Standard Operating Procedures

• Identify and monitor Key Process Indicators to sustain optimal plant operations and deliver on production, yield, and cost targets

• Develop and execute productivity projects to improve baseline safety, quality, production, and cost performance

• Develop capital project scopes of work and associated process packages to improve or maintain unit operations

• Bridge multiple layers of organization between management and front-line workers to deliver plant safety and production objectives

• Mentor and train operations staff on unit design and intended/optimal operation. Assist Operations department in troubleshooting plant operational issues

• Provide accurate, timely forecasts to Plant Finance to help meet financial commitments

• Interpret the health of the production system using PI and other data collection processes

U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline

  • 5+ years PSM experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in chemical industry manufacturing, operations, or engineering roles

    WE VALUE

  • Degree in chemical engineering, or related prior experience in a production or process engineering role preferred

  • Familiarity in various types of unit operations including reactions, binary distillation, absorption, and handling of highly hazardous materials.

  • Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Methodologies

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills with typical chemical process equipment (Pumps, kilns, dryers, instrumentation, utilities, etc.)

  • Familiarity with HS&E regulations and life critical safety tools such as Lock-out/Tag-out, Line Break, and Hot Work permits and procedures

  • Able to work safely among highly hazardous materials and wear all required PPE including chemical resistant clothing and respiratory protection, as required

  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
