Summary: Under minimal supervision, performs a variety of routine tasks pertinent to the month-end closing process; account reconciliations; account analysis and other general accounting functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Performs monthly bank reconciliations.

Prepares and enters assigned monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.

Analyzes and documents actual revenue / expense to budget variances.

Performs balance sheet account reconciliations.

Assists with annual budget in collaboration with program staff.

Prepares monthly, quarterly and year end reports.

Assists in all agency audits.

Performs other accounting tasks as assigned.

Ability to work with various computer software systems.

Performs payroll back up duties.

Position Qualifications:

In order to successfully perform the essential duties and functions of this position, an individual must have the following skills and abilities:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or equivalent accounting experience required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years general accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • General ledger account reconciliation experience preferred.
  • Strong oral, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience with accounting software system.
  • Detail oriented.
