Based in the Cleveland, Ohio area, this role is a career-building, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. If you have the ability to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation and be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close, you will be preferred for this position. Candidates who can participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes will be preferred for this role. This position is ideal for someone with a complex understanding of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.

Your responsibilities in this role:

  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP

  • In-depth experience with reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  • Play a part in a variety of department-wide initiatives

  • Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision

  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries

  • Organize and review a variety of financial data, reporting it in a way that is useful and understandable

  • Arrange schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

  • Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions

  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting

  • Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • ERP system experience

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities
