What will you do?

  • FSMA/HACCP program and team at site level, ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices, preventive controls and prerequisite programs are in place and effective. Manage the plant Food Safety & Quality System to produce safe quality food, acting as SQF Practitioner or equivalent GFSI manager (BRC, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001).

  • Quality Systems: Develop and maintain food safety and quality systems including QC & QA. Develop, review and align procedures with corporate policies and develop standards for Vinegar, through Intelex with a drive towards best practice. Internally audit practices and procedures for improvement to prevent non-conformances. Quality system shall include food safety, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Quality Control in SAP, material control, sanitation, and HACCP, as required by Kerry.

  • Compliance:Enforce Kerry standards in the areas of ingredient and product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control, and regulatory compliance. Ensure that the products released are compliant and safe foods. Be the point person at the site for regulatory inspections (FDA/CFIA), identify preserved (ie, Organic, Kosher, ) and customer audits. Quality Manager is required to have or complete PCQI training

  • Quality Improvement: Track report and review agreed upon KPIs. Develop and lead the plant Quality Improvement Plan. Partner cross-functionally in quality and process improvement.

  • Customer Satisfaction:Be proactive and responsive in addressing customer complaints, communicating effectively on technical issues and leading the root cause analysis. Develop and verify corrective actions.

  • Managerial Responsibilities:Develop and maintain qualified personnel within the plant Quality department, through training, communication, and accountability. This involves recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction and motivation. Manage the department within budget and utilize resources effectively to meet needs of the business on a timely basis.

  • Technical Skills: Continuously improve knowledge of products and technology to investigate variation and resolve technical problems with the team. Apply a scientific approach with statistical analysis to data and problem solving. Act as the primary technical liaison with customers, vendors and regulatory agencies.

What will you need to be successful?

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering.

  • Responsible to oversee 7 Vinegar plants (Multisite).

  • Knowledge and experience with relevant GFSI standards such as SQF, BRC, IFS or FS 22000.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of quality management experience and/or training.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Food Safety regulations, FSMA, and industry and market trends.

  • Experience in a plant environment strongly preferred.

  • HACCP/food safety experience.

  • Knowledge and experience with quality management systems, GFSI audit standards, SSOPs, Environmental hygiene programs, prerequisite programs, and HACCP.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with a variety of stakeholders.

  • PCQI Training required either prior to or after obtaining role.

Compensation Data

The typical hiring range for this role is $100,000 to $135000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
