Job Summary:

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement quality assurance standards and practices.

  • Interact with other departments to ensure understanding of quality assurance principles.

  • Conduct audits of processes and procedures to identify areas of improvement.

  • Conduct investigations into problems identified by customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Perform environmental and biological testing of product.

  • Perform routine line walks and building inspections to check for repacks.

  • Develop and implement training programs based on quality assurance principles and guidelines.

  • Provide training, coaching, and support to the Quality Assurance team.

  • Check all in inbound and outbound inspections; Ensure paperwork is completed and logs are updated.

  • Enforce GMPs and all food safety regulations and guidelines.

  • Work with QA manager to establish quality metrics and goals.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-2 years experience in QA/QC in the food industry preferred.

  • HAACP certification preferred.

  • Knowledge of state, local and federal food safety laws including USDA, GMP’s, CCP, HACCP, SOPs, Food Defense and Food Safety Culture guidelines and regulations.

  • Ability to work effectively and produce consistent results with minimal supervision.

  • Warehousing experience preferred.

  • Experience in a supervisory/leadership role.

  • Must be able to perform frequent bending, kneeling, pushing, and squatting and frequent reaching over shoulder, waist level, and from the floor

  • Must be a team player.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communicate skills.

  • Must be dependable and have a good attendance record.

  • Must have basic math and computer skills.

  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, or when requested.
