Landside Operations Division

Number of Positions: 1

Starting Salary: $93, 684.00

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assists in strategic planning, policy development and implementation of the O’Hare parking program, ground transportation and maintains the O’Hare Automatic Transit System (ATS).

  • Responsible for the oversight of parking, ground transportation, roadway operations, and snow removal operations.

  • Monitors the performance and ongoing development and training of staff and conducts performance evaluations of supervisory staff.

  • Develops the Chicago Department of Aviation’s (CDA) work objectives, quality standards and performance measures, working with supervisors to monitor productivity and adhere to established standards.

  • Assists with the development and management of program contracts, budgets, and administrative functions.

  • Serves as liaison between public, City departments, outside agencies (IDOT, OSHA) and the federal government (TSA/FAA)

  • Manages and directs special projects and initiatives.

  • Coordinates with the CDA Communications Office to respond to public inquiries and comments regarding concerns and complaints.

  • Develops strategy and plans for constantly changing operations caused by ongoing expansion of facilities at O’Hare.

  • Learns software proficiency in CDA’s Blue Beam, Financial Management System, Construction User Form, and other systems.

  • Maintains Signatory status for issuing ID Badging.

Additional duties may be required for this position.

Shift: M onday – Friday

Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

NOTE: Must be flexible to early and/or late meetings and occasional weekends.

NOTE: This is a 24/7 on-call operation, based on operational needs.

NOTE: The candidates selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment.

NOTE: This position requires a valid driver’s license at the time of hire.

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE

Qualifications:

MIMIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration or a field of study directly related to the responsibilities of the position, plus five years of project management work experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS : This position requires an applicant to successfully complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview and assessment, will be selected.
