Ardmore Roderick Project Manger in Chicago, Illinois

Ardmore Roderick is seeking Project Manager candidates for opportunities to manage infrastructure (roads, bridges, tunnels, sidewalks, underground utilities, etc.) projects as part of our Program Management portfolio.

The Project Managers may be responsible for the planning, design, and/or construction of capital projects for new facilities and renovation for a variety of User Agencies.

In each case, the Project Manager will serve as the primary point person in charge of managing teams of professionals through the planning, design, and construction phases.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Manager’s primary responsibilities may include the following:

  • Serve as project leader and main point of contact; managing the creation and maintenance of project scope, schedule, and budget, on behalf of, and in collaboration with, the User Agency;

  • Manage project resource budgets for multiple projects by monitoring and forecasting staffing hours and associated project costs;

  • Demonstrate leadership, communication, technical, and decision-making skills;

  • Provide recommendations to the Director of Construction, Deputy Managing Architect, and other Executive Management staff;

  • Coordinate and communicate project information with all relevant departments; e.g. procurement, compliance, controls, finance, external affairs, etc.;

  • Oversee and coordinate government regulatory project approvals; e.g. entitlement reviews, City Council, governing boards, etc.;

  • Prepare project authority documents for user agency approval; e.g. Formulation and Undertaking Requests and funding  source approvals;

  • Oversee development of presentation materials for project meetings, community meetings, board meetings, City Council, etc.;

  • Lead and coordinate weekly project progress meetings with the project team; ensuring all project components are progressing according to execution plan.

  • Prepare and distribute accurate, timely meeting minutes and action items;

  • Manage multiple projects at one time;

  • Develop and maintain overall project schedule utilizing Oracle Primavera P6 software; including regular progress reports to user agency and senior management with continual tracking of project milestones and critical path;

  • Develop and manage project budget; utilizing Oracle Primavera Contract Management software;

  • Prepare monthly project forecasts of estimated costs and expected labor requirements for project completion;

  • Develops scope and program of project in conjunction with User Agency;

  • Engages and manages all Project consultants/contractors (environmental, geotechnical, survey, material testing, architect  etc.) to ensure project complies with contractual requirements;

  • Verifies concept design complies with project scope;

  • Develops project-specific preliminary construction phasing, constructability, and work plans;

  • Prepares total project budget and schedule in order to ensure approval by User Agency;

  • Develops project schedule identifying project milestones and critical path to be provided to all members of the project team;

  • Manages AOR through all design deliverable milestones, including submissions and review by all User Agency stakeholders;

  • Develops project specific construction phasing and work plans;

  • Manages all aspects of public right of way amendments, licensing and commissioning;

  • Manages zoning, permitting, and all other project regulatory reviews by City Departments;

  • Other duties as assigned.

    Excellent organizational, analytical, written and verbal communication skills are required. Experience with real estate development processes and procedures; including budgeting/accounting, planning, design, contract management, scheduling, and construction project management are preferred. Must have proficiency in all Microsoft Office software along with the ability to use or learn various types of design/project management software such as: AutoCAD, BIM, Revit, InDesign, Photoshop, ArcGIS, Primavera 6, and Contract Manager.

    Candidates must be self-motivated, organized disciplined, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work well with team members and problem solve in a fast paced environment. In addition to proven leadership and strong time management capabilities, this position requires someone with a strong work ethic and a willingness to assume unassigned responsibilities.
