Rush University Medical Center , a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution, and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Endocrinology Faculty in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology. The successful candidate will have a special interest in thyroid cancer, endocrine cancers, and endocrine complications of cancer therapies.

Rush University Medical Center is a leading academic medical center in Chicago, home to an established Endocrinology Division with 6 current faculty as well as a team of 6 advanced practice providers. The Division is dedicated to extensive teaching efforts for its students, residents and fellow; the endocrinology fellowship program is a collaboration between Rush and neighboring John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.

The practice includes outpatient clinics as well as two inpatient consultative services, one for general endocrinology and diabetes, and a second for calcium disorders. The calcium service is also a Fracture Liaison Service dedicated to improving the bone health of Rush patients presenting with fractures.

The candidate would see diabetes, osteoporosis, and general endocrinology patients in clinic, with a flexible percentage (25% target) being cancer center-referred patients with endocrine complications arising during their treatments (e.g. checkpoint inhibitor endocrinopathies), while also seeing patients with thyroid cancer and other endocrine cancers (ideally up to 25%, also flexible). The candidate would attend for the consult services proportionally with the other general endocrinology attendings (7-9 weeks and weekends per year, approximately).

Qualified applicants must have demonstrated excellent qualifications in clinical care and education. Experience with thyroid cancer management would be valued, but mentorship would be available for the ideal candidate with interest. Candidates must be MD/DO physician trained and be board certified or board eligible in Endocrinology.
