Nexstar Media Group NewsNation Anchor Producer, Morning in America (Chicago, IL) in Chicago, Illinois

NewsNation is looking for an Anchor Producer to join the team for NewsNation’s weekday morning program. The anchor producer will provide key editorial support to the anchor. Duties will include conducting research, collecting and sharing editorial updates during breaking news coverage, and providing logistical and administrative support for the anchor. Additionally the anchor producer may be asked to draft suggested interview questions and or write stories and segments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assist in compiling research for anchor

Gather information on breaking news stories

Write and produce content as needed

Pitch segment and package ideas in line with show and talent values

Contribute to special projects and field assignments as needed

Occasional travel for shoots or field anchoring assignments may be requested

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience

The ideal candidate has at least five years of news production experience

The candidate must have strong editorial sensibilities and writing and copy-editing skills

Strong organizational, and people skills are a must

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills who brings lots of ideas to the table.
