Primary Purpose:

Directs and handles the maintenance and repair of Intermodal chassis and containers, and other rolling assets equipment, in support of safe, efficient, economical, and reliable Intermodal operations with focus on the northern region terminals.

Principal Duties:

  • Manages maintenance activities for chassis, containers, and other rolling assets

  • Manages performance and compliance of contracted services that supports chassis, containers, and other rolling assets

  • Supports the development and deployment of technology to improve asset reliability and maintenance

  • Supports the development of new metrics and monitors current metrics to support quality, timely, and cost-effective maintenance

  • Establishes design specifications for assets. Identifies current or new components that should be used to improve reliability and asset availability, while reducing maintenance spend.

  • Oversees/ensures equipment deliveries meet NS specifications

  • Oversees/coordinates warranty and part recalls

  • Oversees compliance with federal and industry rules and regulations

  • Coordinates and manages refurbishment program

  • Manages maintenance budget

  • Derive root cause analysis for mechanical failures

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 2-4 years
