JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

IT Security Specialist, SR - $103,176.00

Chicago Department of Aviation

MIS-Department (ITT Information Technology and Telecommunications) Division

Number of Positions: Five (5) (Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Attend weekly briefings with the ITT Director/Asst. Dir., ISO Team, and DTI Sec. Team if/when necessary.

· Daily morning scrum with the security specialist team: review any observed/remediated events overnight and discuss daily tasks and any outstanding tasks needing attention.

· Perform ongoing/scheduled scans/audits if necessary.

· Follow up with 3 rd party contractors/consultants for remediation to any known issues as instructed by the IT Security Manager.

· Coordination of tasks with other IT Security Specialist team (ISO Team) if necessary.

· Aid with ongoing scans/audits if necessary.

· Interface/review/follow up with the City’s CISO and IT Security Team pertaining to policies and procedures as well as any amendments pertaining to the CDA.

· Monitor network/cybersecurity dashboards for potential threats and notify the proper contact if necessary.

· Monitor world events pertaining to network and cybersecurity for any potential threats to the CDA/CoC.

· Other tasks as assigned by the ITT Director/Asst. Dir., IT Security Manager, and/or executive team

Additional duties may be required for this position.

THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM THE CAREER SERVICE

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS : Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/Systems, or a directly related field, plus two years of experience in information security, network architecture or engineering, or application development or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

NOTE: Must be flexible to early and/or late meetings and occasional weekends.

NOTE: Must be flexible to travel to Midway Airport, based on operational needs.

NOTE: This position requires a valid license at the time of hire.

NOTE: The candidates selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires applicants to complete an interview. The interviewed candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position will be selected.

Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:

  • Previous IT work experience.

  • Previous work experience in Network/Cyber Security.

  • Knowledge of MS Office applications.
