Wolters Kluwer IT Infrastructure & Operations Analyst - Cloud Operations Engineer in Chicago, Illinois

The Cloud Operations Engineer at Enablon is responsible for and maintains the fully automated infrastructure used to provide our solutions to customers in the Public Cloud. Some of the responsibilities include maintenance of existing and introduction of new CI/CD tooling and improving our deployment processes and infrastructure. You will be asked to have focus on automation and experience building infrastructure that scales as well as troubleshooting performance issues. We expect someone who is, passionate about technology and has a sense of what it means to provide services for customers. Reporting to the Cloud Operations Manager, you will be part of a team of Cloud Operations Engineers and Architects working in the Public cloud space (Azure and AWS).

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all systems are available and performing according to the expected Service Level Agreements.

  • Add new and maintain existing tooling (Terrafrom, TeamCity, ThousandEyes, SumoLogic, VictorOps).

  • Have a good record of accomplishment of using automation tools such as Terraform to build infrastructure that scales.

  • Use GitOps to promote change through environments (peer reviews and approval of technical changes)

  • Collaborate with internal Product, DevOps and Support teams to agree on the next generation software delivery pipelines.

  • Operational security awareness and the ability to improve the security and compliance controls.

  • Perform 24x7 on call duty to provide support with infrastructure issues

Qualifications:

  • Relevant working experience in a similar position.

  • 2+ years of experience in systems engineering with focus on automation and Azure or AWS

  • Experience with Operations, on both Windows Server and Linux systems.

  • Experience using Terrafrom

  • Understanding of concepts such as virtualization, containerization, auto-scaling, experience with GIT, CI/CD integration toolchains, building fault-tolerant solutions and fully automated systems.

  • Well-versed in at least one of the three scripting languages (BASH, Python or PowerShell).

  • Experience with hardening of modern operating systems, web and application servers, databases, proxies etc.
