Job Description

As part of the site Quality Team, you’ll ensure quality and food safety through leading quality and food safety risk assessments, and implementation of mitigation strategies and controls during new product development, capital project and maintenance activities. You will partner with Engineering, Maintenance and Reliability, Research and Development, Technical Innovation Management and Operations, and hold them accountable on quality and food safety matters, challenging the status quo to drive quality improvement. While taking ownership in your area of work, you’ll also ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues while producing our top-quality products reliably and efficiently within our integrated supply chain.

How you will contribute

  • Serve as key quality stakeholder for all site activities, engineering and VSU initiatives and projects (new equipment installation, infrastructure capital projects, Master Plan Initiatives, new line start-up)

  • Support the site Quality Manager in the development of a capital investment plan to improve compliance and food safety.

  • Support new product introduction & site change activity to provide a food safety input into the change management process.

  • Coordinate quality, food safety and sanitation inputs for site engineering projects and start-up activities in order to support delivery of successful CQV (Commissioning, Quality, Verification)

  • Coordinate implementation of mitigation strategies to minimize microbiological risks associated with capital project work i.e. environmental monitoring, escalated sampling, and temporary hygiene junction, cleaning and sanitizing procedures

  • Lead quality and food safety inputs for hygienic integrity review; change management and technical risk management at the site.

  • Drive quality business initiatives at the site Engineering and maintenance level

  • Attend capital project meetings and VSU to ensure quality and food safety requirements are integrated early on

  • Ensure adherence to Mondelez Global Standards into the planning and realization of site activity and engineering projects

  • Responsible for coordinating Quality and Food Safety risk assessments for maintenance activities; ensure QFS considerations have been reviewed, risk assessed, and proper mitigations are in place prior to execution of the change

  • Provide Guidance to Site Maintenance and Reliability and Engineering teams on Mondelez QP compliance i.e. GMP requirements (Utilities, Maintenance, Construction and Layout of buildings, Equipment Calibration)

  • Manage and coordinate any Food Safety Program changes as a result of engineering or CQV activities while leveraging the appropriate Q&FS team resources.

  • Responsible for outlining quality and food safety requirements on engineering projects, developing all the QFS documents, delivering training for core team members.

  • Provide inputs into regional and global engineering QFS best practices

  • First line Q&FS incident management for any engineering and CQV activities including handling and coordination with outside stakeholders when needed. Lead root cause analysis investigation of incidents. Track and report on incident closure

  • Attend Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for key equipment, Equipment & Quality FMEA (Failure Modes & Effects Analysis) and Site Acceptance Test

  • Participate in Quality Pillar meetings and activities

  • Experience in Quality Systems management (i.e. QCMS, HACCP, FSSC, ISO)

  • Project management and managing multiple priorities.

  • Communicating effectively and leading cross-functional teams

  • Food safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls, hygienic design

  • Knowledge of GMP, food allergens, pest control, sanitation, and food safety regulations

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal direction.

  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills to act as a liaison.

  • Possess problem solving skills

  • Ability to prioritize work and meet required deadlines

  • Ability to work with a team to meet goals.

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality Assurance, Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.

Job specific requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a quality supervisor, quality lead/manager, quality engineer.

  • Knowledge of food safety risk, identification and management, HACCP and prerequisite controls, hygienic design

  • Food Manufacturing experience (required)
