Site Design Group, Ltd. seeks Document & Field Technician in Chicago, IL.

Duties:

  • Responsible for project document production and organization, with emphasis on the construction document and construction administration phases.

o Develop project designs based on scope of work, client communications and meetings, Principal, Director, and Project/Technical/Field Manager direction, and code compliance.

o Develop construction details.

o Research materials for project specifications.

o Design presentations and/or construction document layouts.

o Assist managing schedules of staff to get projects completed on time.

o Assist in preparing construction cost estimates.

o Assist in interfacing with clients and consultants.

o Assist in administration of construction observation including: answering client and contractor questions, prepare addenda, review submittals, review pay requests, prepare meeting minutes, visit sites, prepare field observation reports.

o Financial Management of project, meeting goals and staying within Budget.

  • Assist in site visits, site analysis, measuring, and field reports.
  • Construction document layouts.
  • Assist in the integration of construction management processes and procedures.
  • Monitor and document construction project progress.
  • Assist in preparing construction cost estimates.
  • Assist in tracking and reviewing construction submittals, including coordinating product samples.
  • Assist in preparing construction agendas, reviewing contractor pay requests, preparing meeting minutes, visiting construction sites, and preparing field observation reports.

{=html} <!-- --> - Assist in inspecting landscape work to ensure compliance with specifications and evaluate quality of materials and work. - Assist in managing and organizing project documents. - Interface with clients and consultants, including assisting in answering client and contractor questions. - Research materials for project specifications and construction document layouts. - Manage firm-wide material and product samples.

Telecommuting is permitted.

Requires a Masters degree in Landscape Architecture, City Design, Architecture, or related field plus 1 year of experience. Requires 1 year of experience with:

  • Assisting in site visits, site analysis, measuring, and field reports.
  • Construction document layouts.
  • Assisting in the integration of construction management processes and procedures.
  • Monitoring and documenting construction project progress.
  • Assisting in preparing construction cost estimates.

Telecommuting is permitted.
