Job Description

Position Overview

As a Director, Transmission Project Management, you will lead a team of Project Managers across a region or multiple projects while providing technical guidance to business development efforts and support advanced planning, development, and construction for transmission projects. You will be responsible for managing projects from advanced development through construction to commercial operation and supporting the technical needs of projects in development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and manage team of Project Managers focused on the execution of transmission projects.

  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage EPC Contracts.

  • Manage construction permitting activities and ensure that all required construction permits have been obtained.

  • Manage and monitor construction activities for multiple project sites.

  • Ensure that the site construction activities adhere to established construction protocols.

  • Review site layouts, micro-siting, and civil design of projects.

  • Lead coordination of development and construction efforts with interconnecting utilities.

  • Lead coordination and support of internal project financing and accounting efforts.

    Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, electrical, mechanical engineering or other technical disciplines.

  • 10+ years of progressive project management and direct report management experience.

  • 5-10 years of project management functional area experience – scope, cost, schedule, and risk management areas of focus

  • Thorough understanding and implementation of projects in accordance with contracts.

  • Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership, and communication skills which extend across all organizational and management levels.

  • Demonstrated ability in leadership of multi-disciplined teams of project managers, engineers, and outside consultants.

  • Experience in development and execution of complex project schedules.

  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 or other advanced scheduling software

  • Able to travel up to 20% of the time

    • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

    Preferred Skills

  • Master’s degree in business, Engineering is a plus.

  • Power industry, renewable energy industry experience preferred.

  • Specific experience in transmission or linear project development and construction a plus.

  • Construction field experience preferred.

  • Construction Building License holder is a plus.

  • Transmission line design/PLS-CADD and experience with t-line tools preferred
