The University of Chicago\'s Pritzker School of Medicine (PSOM) seeks applications for a faculty member at any rank who will serve as Associate Dean for Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (HEDI). The Associate Dean for HEDI is a practicing physician with leadership experience in medical education and a proven track record of programmatic experience and scholarship in the areas of health equity, diversity, and inclusion. Among the nation\'s top medical schools, the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine has achieved one of the most racially and ethnically diverse student bodies in the country, with over a third of the incoming class of 2025 being from groups underrepresented in medicine (UiM).

Under the leadership of the Associate Dean for HEDI, the Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Office provides support and programming for all medical students and leads initiatives dedicated to students from UiM groups. The appointee will work collaboratively with PSOM leadership to successfully lead and oversee the activities of the HEDI Office, including but not limited to: providing key leadership for the monthly Identity and Inclusion committee, providing essential guidance and leadership to further the recruitment and selection of future students with an eye towards diversity, equity, and inclusion; supporting and advising affinity groups; and leading Pritzker\'s pathway \"summer pipeline\" programs for undergraduate students. Other duties include teaching and supervision of trainees and medical students, and scholarly activity. The appointee will also serve as the Director for the Bowman Society (https://pritzker.uchicago.edu/resources/bowman-society), leading the monthly Bowman Society Lecture Series with invited luminaries and other key student events related to admissions and graduation.

The Associate Dean for HEDI will represent the HEDI Office across the continuum of medical education when collaborating within PSOM (Office of Student Affairs, Admissions Office, Medical School Education Office), or across the Biological Sciences Division (BSD), Graduate Medical Education, Center for Continuing Medical Education, Simulation Center, and the University of Chicago Medical Center (UCM). Lastly, the Associate Dean for HEDI will play a leading role in curriculum development and renewal on topics related to health equity, diversity, and inclusion as well as anti-racism. The appointee will have many opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration and will be fully integrated into the overall infrastructure dedicated to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the BSD and UCM.

The appointee must qualify for an appointment as a faculty member in an appropriate department within the BSD.
