Job Description

Position Overview

As an Associate, Contracts you must show strong potential down the line to lead complex and often contentious negotiations. You will be responsible for supporting the Invenergy Contracts team’s Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Build Transfer (BT) and Development Transfer (DT) negotiation efforts for renewable energy projects to third parties. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to stay keenly organized, communicate clearly within multiple facets of the organization, a temperament comfort with conflict and natural curiosity to comprehend the broader picture of what it takes to build utility scale renewable projects. This role would be an ideal growth opportunity for an ambitious self-starter looking to help fuel the growth of one of the most dynamic and entrepreneurial companies in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for Contracts team in the preparation of PPA, BT, and DT agreements.

  • Coordinate with Development, Finance, Engineering, Legal, and other functional departments in order to prepare exhibits and other documentation related to the commercial transaction.

  • Create and maintain data rooms used to exchange transaction documents with third parties.

  • Assist commercial team with gathering and sharing due diligence requested by transaction counterparties.

  • Provide support for Invenergy’s RFP responses related to PPA, BT, and DT transactions.

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required

  • 2+ years of experience or advanced degree

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of wind, solar, and energy storage power systems.

  • Experience with complex commercial agreements.

  • Prior work in related field

  • Must work well in a high performing team setting.

  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

  • Must be able to engage and contribute in a fast-paced high-pressure environment and adapt fluidly to changing priorities.
