The University of Chicago Department of Statistics invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in Statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Statistical Methods and Applications.

The University of Chicago has the highest standards for scholarship and faculty quality, is dedicated to fundamental research, and has an inherently interdisciplinary structure that is very supportive of newly emerging research opportunities, and appointments may be made jointly with another department in the University.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Completion of all requirements for a PhD in statistics or related field by the time of hire.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in applying statistical methods to substantive applied problems.
  • At least one year of university-level teaching experience, such as, but not limited to, a TA or instructor of record.
  • At least one year of experience as a postdoctoral researcher.
