Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Chicago, Illinois

Description Join a team of highly skilled, motivated professionals as an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk through this opportunity offered by Robert Half. The candidate in this position will be reporting to the Accounting Manager while attending to the general administrative needs of the AP/Finance Department. The essential functions of this role will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. Located in Chicago, Illinois, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary to hire opening.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Open, organize, and distribute department mail daily

  • Facilitate internal and external audits as needed

  • Assist internal business partners with any customer services needs

  • Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

  • Maintain proper storage of invoices, checks, and other documents by organizing, logging, scanning, and filing them

  • Complete special projects on an as-needed basis

  • Handle administrative tasks for the AP/Finance Department

  • Execute full-cycle A/P Requirements - Prior experience in an A/P role preferred

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Data entry experience required

  • Proficiency in Blackbaud

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Enter Vendor Invoices experience

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

  • Competent with spreadsheets and databases

  • High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
