Innophos is searching for a Maintenance Planner to optimize the shareholders assets and optimize availability of the various production units with minimal downtime through planning and coordination of the daily activities of hourly maintenance personnel at our Chicago Heights, IL manufacturing site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety and Health

  • Responsible for maintaining the Safety & Health standards, actively participating in employee safety training, hazard prevention and control, worksite analysis, and exercising management leadership

  • Responsible for conducting pre-job safety reviews with contractors as necessary

  • Quality and Food Safety

  • Perform training for both salary and hourly personnel as required

  • Oversee MOC process as it relates to the tasks of the position

  • Fulfill responsibilities which ensure food safety, legality, and quality

  • Perform as designee for the Maintenance Manager position in the absence of the responsible person

  • Perform as designee for the Maintenance Coordinator position(s) in the absence of the responsible person

  • Planning/Schedule, Communication

  • Direct and schedule the human and material resources to maintain plant operability

  • Provide short- and long-term Maintenance plans to meet the needs of the business

  • Build and maintain a backlog of "ready-to-schedule" kitted work for mechanical and electrical maintenance teams

  • Chair meetings, collaborate with Production Coordinators & Engineers to develop detailed plans and schedules for shutdowns and/or turnarounds

  • Source and coordinate contractors, service providers and vendors as required to complete work and projects

  • Maintain communication between the production and maintenance departments in order to set priorities to meet production plan requirements

  • Collaborate & work closely with production coordinators & engineers when planning & scheduling shutdowns

  • Maintain equipment master file and bills of material and preventive maintenance schedule in the CMMS

  • Collaborate with Storeroom personnel to ensure parts are ordered, charged out, and re-ordered in a timely fashion

  • Preventative Maintenance

  • Implement long term solutions to recurrent problems beyond the day-to-day work to reduce downtime in process units

  • Ensure that all parts, tools and information are available for planned shutdowns and emergency breakdowns

  • Corrective Maintenance

  • Investigate equipment failures to help identify root cause and implement long-term solution

  • Project

  • Implement improvement projects (scope, cost estimation, request capital money, supervision of fieldwork, commissioning)

  • General

  • Work with plant teams to achieve plant objectives

  • Perform other tasks as assigned

    RequiredEducation and Experience

  • GED/High School Diploma Required

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred

  • 7 or more years of experience in Industrial Maintenance and supervision

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must have a strong commitment to safety

  • Good communication skills both written and oral including technical writing ability

  • Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, and knowledge of CMMS

  • AutoCAD experience would be a plus

  • Strong ability to estimate, plan, schedule and complete work orders and projects

  • Unionized environment experience

  • Ability to efficiently manage contractors, service suppliers, and vendors to accomplish business objectives
