Amentum Warehouse Supervisor in Cheyenne, Wyoming

Amentum is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in Wyoming!

  • Typical work schedule is Mon-Fri, 7:00 am – 5:00pm.; hours may vary based on business demand.

  • Weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.

The Warehouse Supervisor provides oversight of operations functions for two site locations near La Barge, WY and Kemmerer, WY, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures regarding safety, acceptance, storage, maintenance, inventory, and release of both general order merchandise stocked materials.

This position schedules and sometimes actually supports weekend hours for a 24/7 operation and must be able to provide the team support and be on site as required on weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • This role supervises the warehouse staff ensuring staff is adequately trained; coordinating workloads, priorities, and schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of work; and monitoring and evaluating staff performance. Recommends maintenance and repairs to facility.

  • Supervises scheduling maintenance and repairing company vehicles and equipment in accordance with procedures and requirements.

  • Ensures proper storage of materials of all shapes, weights and sizes.

  • Implements and monitors daily and month-end reporting of team safety, appropriate warehousing measures, and improvement projects.

  • Tasks supervised include shipping and receiving of stored items in bins, on floors, or on shelves in storeroom or warehouse for removal, marking or tagging articles for identification purposes, maintaining records of inventory, filling orders, issuing materials to office or production areas .

  • Assists with design and implementation of work methods and operational procedures for activities, such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.

  • Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment, prepares work order for repairs, and requisitions for replacement of equipment.

  • Reviews work processes, recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product or service, and suggests changes in working conditions to increase efficiency.

  • Supervises salvage of damaged or used material. Keeps accurate records and prepares and submits required paperwork.

  • Screens and provides input on hiring warehouse personnel.

  • May train, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action.

  • This role provides support for two sites, one site primarily a gas production facility and the other a gas dehydration facility.

  • The warehousing team primarily serves maintenance activities by receiving materials supporting the different site equipment to perform gas production 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. The dehydrations site warehouse supports three different gas gathering field stations and all the well sites.

  • The site supervisor ensures the teams safety by ensuring EHS is lead at all levels of the team, all materials are appropriately available for both sites along with all the support needed to drive warehouse efficiencies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training/experience

  • 5 years warehouse management experience

  • Must have the previous experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other software applications with the ability to type using a keyboard.

  • Must have experience resolving team conflict, being able to reduce tensions, reinforcing teamwork, while maintaining team cohesion.

  • Must have experience performing interviews identifying characteristics supporting a team environment and a good cultural fit.

  • This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.

  • This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Requires the ability to regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift.

  • Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift.

  • Requires the ability to regularly kneel repetitive for shift.

  • Requires the ability to move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift.

  • Requires the ability to walk extensively throughout the plant during shift.

  • Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.

  • Requires the use of a Company/Client approved utility knife.

  • Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.

  • Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

  • Working knowledge of hazardous materials controls, regulations, and declaration shipping procedures.

  • Working knowledge of warehouse distribution principles and techniques.

  • Working knowledge of logistics/supply procedures.

  • Good interpersonal skills with an ability to lead, coach, and manage others.

Special Requirements:

  • Must wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.

  • Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.

  • Must have the ability to recognize environmental safety concerns with the Wyoming area keeping all team members safe with temperatures ranging from -50F to 100F on occasion with blowing conditions of ice and snow as well as heavy rains on occasion and drought conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous supervisory experience with team sizes up to approximately ten team members.

  • Previous experience with ERP systems such as SAP, but other ERP software experience acceptable.

  • Must have the ability to recognize a skill gap within a member of the team and provide the necessary support addressing the skill gap.

  • Must be willing to learn all other warehousing tasks of all the other team members and be able to train new team members as needed.

  • Must have previous exposure to continuous improvement or a willingness to learn the continuous improvement methodology.
