GovCIO Senior Technical Writer/Editor (Remote) in Cheyenne, Wyoming

Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Technical Writer/Editor to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) OI&T IO OTG team. This will be a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Support facilitation of workgroups, coordination of meetings, and development of presentation materials.

  • Coordinate meeting facilities/conference rooms/teleconferences, develop agendas, produce minutes, and monitor action item status.

  • Support correspondence and data calls received through the OI&T/VA organizations including executive inquiries from VA leadership. Draft, edit, package, and submit materials.

  • Support the recording, documentation, and reporting for all Major Incidents on a 24/7 basis as well as to manage, create, review, edit and disseminate reports, documents, white-papers, or any other documentation as requested by OTG.

  • In collaboration with OTG, develop document standards for design, layout, style, format, or any other related document attribute, in alignment with existing VA standards. Standards will be created for reports, presentations, briefs, placemats, and any other physical or electronic document or work product created as required by OTG.

  • Prepare various reports and documents including, not limited to Executive Summaries, Facts & Findings, and Spot Reports.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10+ years experience

  • Experience in editing narrative and graphic products to identify and correct grammatical formatting and logic errors and to identify logical inconsistencies that will require author attention.

  • Experience in the application of a variety of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, and scheduling tools.

  • Experience in meeting with authors and other team representatives to review documents, compile inputs/corrections, resolve incompatible comments, and provide final publishable documentation.

  • Experience in explaining in simple language scientific and technical ideas that are difficult for the average reader to understand.

  • Experience with Microsoft office, Word, PowerPoint, MS TEAMS, workflows or other editing and GUI editing software.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clearance Requirement: The ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust.

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $60,000.00 - USD $70,000.00 /Yr.
