TEKsystems Systems Engineer in Chesterbrook, Pennsylvania

Description:

Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer will contribute within the team that oversees all aspects of the systems infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for managing and monitoring all systems installations, including configuration, testing, and maintenance of on-prem and cloud-based resources. In addition, the implementation and maintenance of strategies for backup, disaster recovery, security, and redundancy are expected to ensure the highest integrity and availability of our systems. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this role, as well as the ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of the team.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor all infrastructure and systems, including configuration, testing, and maintenance.

• Implement, and maintain strategies for backup, security, and redundancy.

• Identify potential issues and implement solutions proactively.

• Resolve escalated issues, questions, and service requests in a timely manner with a focus on customer satisfaction.

• Collaborate with help desk staff to resolve more complex issues.

• Oversee the testing and installation of systems software service packs, upgrades, and new software.

• Collaborate on standards and automation to minimize the need for manual intervention.

• Clearly document design, maintenance, and support procedures.

• Maintain compliance with all documented policies (security, change management, etc.).

• Interact with internal and external IT and non-IT stakeholders as needed when implementing changes or diagnosing problems.

• Interface with vendors as needed to deliver services to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and device uptime.

• Provide transparent and timely communication to other technology and business staff to ensure awareness of service delivery, ongoing issues that impact productivity, etc.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong sense of ownership

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Operate with a general sense of urgency.

• Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and systems (cloud and on-prem).

• Knowledge of backup, security, and redundancy strategies.

• Experience managing cloud infrastructure (Azure and Google Cloud) a strong plus.

• Experience with scripting languages such as Python and/or PowerShell a plus.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

• Three years of related experience

Working Conditions:

The Systems Engineer must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary to ensure timely and comprehensive systems operations.
