Insight Global Equipment Technician in Chester, Virginia

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Equipment Technician to join one of our top industrial clients in the Richmond, VA area. This will be an ongoing contract.. In this role, you will be trained to inspect, test, service, repair, configure, calibrate, and install indicating recording, and automatic control instruments such as flow monitors, pressure sensors and gauges, temperature sensors, regulators, meters, gauges, current and voltage systems, and similar components in a power station environment and will report their findings to supervision. You will be trained to perform a multitude of tasks, including quarterly CEMS audits, and assist in the performance of Gas and Flow RATA's as required by local, state, and federal authorities. You will use portable gauges and meters, manometers, and similar test equipment. The technician will perform preventive maintenance and will test flue gases and flows, read meters, and record raw data as required in excel worksheets. Technicians at this level will learn to work on complex/detailed systems and equipment. You will be trained by more experienced Instrument Technicians. You must have the ability to work on tall stacks at a height of 300 feet or more is required. Ability to climb up a stack caged ladder to a height of 200 feet or more and to climb down a stack from any height is and the capability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs. independently is required. In this role you will work four ten hour days (either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday) where you will be travelling in a company vehicle to the various locations across Virginia and one site in West Virginia dependent on your ten week schedule. All travel and stay will be reimbursed and you are qualified for overtime after you have exceeded 40 hours of work for the week. There will be some jobs that do require overnight stay. You will be provided a hotel room and meals for these overnight stays

Skills and Requirements

  • 1 year of experience from a variety of backgrounds (AV tech, robotics, mechanical engineering, electrician, phone/cable installations, etc.)

  • Able to lift 50 -- 75 lbs

  • High School, GED required

  • Experience working with Excel (formulas, navigating worksheets)

  • Valid drivers license - 2-year technical degree

  • Military Background null
