Perdue AgriBusiness, LLC has an immediate opening for an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic at our facility on Barnes Road in Chesapeake, Virginia.

The essential functions of this position include performing assigned mechanical work to include equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown and equipment failure. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Complete preventive maintenance tasks as assigned. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures. Rebuild equipment including but not limited to gearboxes, pumps, pneumatics and hydraulic systems. Welding and fabrication experience not required, but preferred. Reads, interprets, understands manufacturer equipment manuals preventive (PM) task sheets and safety policies. Performs all equipment repairs and daily work within OSHA regulations, lockout-tagout and company safety policies. Monitors performance of equipment and informs maintenance and production supervisors of potential problems. Maintains log books by applying math skills through the equipment PM stages in order to calibrate machinery to performance standards.

Minimum Education

High School or equivalent

Advanced technical or equipment maintenance training (preferred but not required)

Experience Requirements

2 - 4 years of related industrial work experience. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools and have the ability to learn to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment.
