Summary

Perdue AgriBusiness, LLC has an immediate opening for an experienced Boiler Operator at our facility in Chesapeake, Virginia.

The essential functions of this position is to perform boiler duties within scope of classification to include equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, emergency breakdown, and equipment failure.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on boiler equipment

  • Diagnose failures to boiler equipment and make repairs

  • Rebuild boiler equipment as needed

  • Maintain records and logs as required

  • Compile and complete paperwork relative to repairs to include but not limited to work orders, time cards, and job cards

  • Perform all work within safety guidelines established by local, state, and federal agencies as well as company policies

  • Perform other assigned task as assigned by Supervisor

Experience Requirements

  • State Stationary Engineer Level 1 License required

  • Boiler operator with 5-7 years experience

  • Boiler Operator Certification required

  • Valid state driver's license required

Minimum Education

  • High School Graduate or GED preferred

  • Advanced technical training preferred

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

  • Be able to move freely throughout the Division facilities to include climbing vertical heights (0-150')

  • Carrying tools and equipment (0-100 pounds)

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (0-100 Degrees F)

  • Humidity (0-100%)

  • Noise (50db to 100db) and chemicals (MSDS sheets available)

  • Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus
