General Manager Description

Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

New client to our area! ARE YOU SEARCHING FOR A NEW AND REWARDING CAREER? An expansive metal siding and roofing manufacturer is moving to the area. They are looking for a General Manager to help build there Cherokee, IA location from the ground up. The General Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the branch including but not limited to Sales/Customer Service, Manufacturing and Delivery. Other responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining your own team through hiring, firing and mentoring. Appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and providing solutions to problems.

  • Maintaining daily business transactions for the company as well as assets and inventory.

  • Assuring that Company procedures and policies are practiced.

  • Growing and maintaining customer satisfaction through dedicated service.

  • Grow business with new customers & maximize sales with existing customer base.

  • Monitor fluctuations in the steel manufacturing to help solidify profit and loss.

  • Recommend product mix and selling price based on changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.

  • Develop plans business development goals.

  • Provide quarterly results assessments of staff & department productivity.

  • Educate sales & production teams by coaching in relevant areas.

  • Hold regular department meetings with staff.

  • Develop and implement process improvement strategies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of relative work experience

  • Communicate/read effectively in English

  • Basic math skills

  • Strong safety knowledge and value for safety practices

  • Energetic and motivated personality

  • Ability to multi-task
