About our Team

Elsevier’s Digital Business Solutions business unit solves customer and business problems by leveraging technology and data. The architecture team provide ideas, governance and consultancy allowing our delivery teams to develop innovative software solutions.

About the Role

This position performs moderate research, design, and software development assignments within a specific software functional area or product line.

Responsibilities

  • Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity.

  • Completing simple bug fix

  • Working closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs.

  • Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while; collaborating with key stakeholders.

  • Resolving technical issues as necessary and keep abreast of new technology developments.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required.

  • 1+ Years of Experience in development and maintenance using Quickbase, Quickbase API, and Pipelines

  • Experience in building custom applications, developing custom pages using both Quickbase API as well as regular Quickbase interface.

  • Need to work on existing applications and workflows, as well as, creating new applications or new functionalities to existing applications.

  • Experience of relational databases, data modeling, and system integrations.

  • Have experience in writing and optimizing Quickbase formulas, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for customizations.

  • Develop, automate, and maintain data feeds using scripting languages into and out of the application.

  • Experience in Python and API development using rest API.

  • Have experience in scripting languages like JavaScript develop and configure customized Quickbase applications.

  • Experience of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, data manipulation languages, data storage subsystems and test-driven development

  • Performs, monitoring, maintenance, or reporting on real- time QuickBase data

  • Certified QB in APP Builder and Expert Builder

  • Experience in requirement gathering and design/implement them

  • Troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues

  • Identify and build integrations with other business tools/applications to optimize processes

  • Build reports and dashboards for end-users and management

  • Have ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.

  • Have good oral and written communications skills..
