Description

The Device Software Externalization Infrastructure team builds and owns the software infrastructure components to enable simple, consistent and scalable way for the Device Service Providers to offer their services and Service Consumers like Device Product Lines within Amazon and Device Makers outside of Amazon to discover, adopt and use our Device Services for 1P and 3P Products.

The Role:

As a Senior SDE on the team, you will be responsible for leading the architecture, design, development and launch of some of the core services and features to will be used across multiple teams within Amazon and outside. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define these features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead the best practices that enable a quality product.

The ideal candidate is clearly passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrated track record of success in delivering new features and products. A commitment to team work, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems. About the team

The Device Software Externalization Infrastructure team builds and owns the software infrastructure components to enable simple, consistent and scalable way for the Device Service Providers to offer their services and Service Consumers like Device Product Lines within Amazon and Device Makers outside of Amazon to discover, adopt and use our Device Services for 1P and 3P Products.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
