Job Overview:

Prepare and develop arrangement and detail conceptual, FEED, studies, and detail design drawings of high technical quality and professional consistent presentation ensuring clarity and ease of construction.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure design deliverables are completed and issued per project specifications, MDR and project procedures, and within agreed schedules

  • Apply knowledge and/or skills to complete a variety of day-to-day activities within own area

  • Prioritize and organize own work to meet agreed upon deadlines

  • Become fully familiar with the Contract Scope of Work, specifications, schedule and all interdiscipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues

  • Interface with all disciplines to develop clash free designs

  • Interface with other disciplines to obtain input for Discipline designs and drawings

  • Participate in finalizing deliverables lists, deliverables and philosophies to ensure compliance with specifications and functional integrity

  • Set up and maintain the Discipline Master Design drawing and document files, including final archiving

  • Prepare and review Discipline deliverables such as: 3D model, Detailed design drawings & As-built drawings

  • · Review drawings issued by other disciplines and incorporate the required data into Discipline drawings

  • Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceeding with their deliverables

  • Maintain single discipline and inter-discipline check drawings and filing

  • Monitor progress and maintain the Discipline deliverables register on an ongoing basis

  • Keep Lead Designer apprised of all activities, progress and concerns, including manpower and budgetary related

  • Guide / mentor the less experienced Designers

  • Prepare / review structural design deliverables and carryout activities such as:

  • 3D model development Structural scope

  • General Structural Design instructions

  • Jacket & Topside Primary steel drawings

  • o Jacket & Topside Secondary steel drawings

  • Pile / Conductor drawings

  • Bridge structural drawings

  • Flare/vent boom structural drawings

  • Helideck structural drawings

  • Structural drawings for Buildings and other structures

  • Access platform drawings & Equipment support drawings

  • Material handling drawings and all appurtenance drawings

  • Seafastening drawings

  • Review vendor documents and provide comments for structural support requirements

  • Participate in clash resolution meetings, as required

  • Familiar with weld symbols

  • Prepare, issue and update material and weight data take-offs

  • Assist Fabrication as required in the resolution of construction difficulties relating to design problems, clashes, etc.

  • Attending site surveys

Essential Qualifications and Education:

  • 12 years minimum experience with major offshore contractor or consultant of which 10 years of experience in predominately offshore oil and gas structures

  • High School graduate with a diploma in Civil or Mechanical Design or Drafting in a related discipline

  • Detailed knowledge of associated industry detailing standards. Detailed knowledge of 3D and 2D drafting systems (2D: AutoCAD and MicroStation). Minimum 4 years working experience in S3D, E3D, 2D Draft, M.S.Office & Navis works

  • Knowledge of QA Systems and a good communicator. Detailed knowledge of Auto lisp Programming, PDMS Model creation, Menu and/or Macro compilation skills would be an advantage

  • Knowledge of offshore design specifications (e.g. QG, QP, NOC, Shell DEP etc.) & offshore design codes (API, AWS, AISC, ISO, DNV etc.)
