Ford Motor Company Senior Audio Design & Development Engineer in Chennai, India

Ford Internation Market Group, Connectivity Audio Design and development engineer with high quality digital products through understanding the requirements, verification and validation, technical integration, analytics, and quality, all while supporting and ensuring ontime project launch for internal customers and end consumers.

  1. Works closely with Ford cross functional teams including Core Audio team to leverage Audio and Audio system components to vehicles developed in Ford Motor Company through all design phases, including component technical issue resolution and closure.

  2. Project engineer managing completely from the program start to launch of his/her audio components ex., audio headunit, amplifier, speakers, USB, Mic and attachments brackets.

  3. Project management of product development lifecycle deliverables as outlined in Integrator/Program V-model. Support Audio components hardware and software elements that are independent of vehicle Market-of-Sale.

  4. Develop realistic work plans / test plans, track delivery and open issues, and apply program management principles to support vehicle program milestones.

  5. Develop and execute verification and validation plans.

  6. Work closely with International Market Group-based teams in support of milestone delivery.

  7. Lead all related Lifecycle management/Issue fix/Quality Improvement design actions.

  8. Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional and regional supporting teams (e.g. Finance, Program Management, Launch Teams, VOME, Quality, fleet management, etc.,)

  9. Manage Suppliers to establish plans for chip shortages, hardware, software and mechanical changes on their components.

  10. Lead team of four (To4).

  11. Deliver VA/VE target on audio and audio components.

  12. Communicate engineering changes and work closely with feature owners, software, attributes engineers.

  13. Broader understanding about product development processes concept design to delivery, example Pre PS to SOP and on-going quality of their component to the lifetime of vehicle.

  14. Ensure system designs are robustly engineered using latest quality tools to meet all program attributes including cost, weight, quality & timing.

  15. Technically Go-To person for their modules/components.

  16. Use DET / CAN / LIN / RADMoon / Oscilloscopes and other vehicle network communication tools to interface and in test benches / vehicles ensuring systems are working to the specification.

  17. Strong analytical, strategy, planning, and problem-solving skills for overall.

  18. Able understand and deliver confidently on releasing processes (like Concern, Alert) within Ford.

  19. Experienced in using Ford Engineering release tools example, FMA, WERS, FEDE, TCE, VSEM, E2KS, CDP, TPOT, G8D, BSAQ, GI, SWT, etc.,

  20. Knowledge about issue tracking tools like JIRA, AIMS, etc.,

  21. Able to successfully bring cross functional team together across different cultures & time zones to ensure repeated delivery of own & shared objectives.
