Job Summary

Responsible for validating product quality by analyzing and testing the quality of the codebase. Makes decisions affecting architecture of the test codebase including which software to use for writing test code. Focuses on writing code that will be executed in an automated and repeatable fashion which will reduce manual testing efforts and increase code quality and consistency. Develops and maintains code that validates front-end, middleware and database systems, using the latest tools and common programming languages. Provides input into various software development lifecycle stages. Partners with software engineers to write efficient automation code using coding standards and best practices. Executes automated code and creates comprehensive execution reports for team. Repairs complex broken automation scripts and performs peer reviews of automation codebase. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as resource and mentor for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description: Engineer 3, SDET

Job Title:  Engineer 3, SDET

Reports to:  Manager, SDET

Job Summary:  The Engineer 3, SDET, will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automation testing framework to support new and existing features for our Java Spring-based CMS platforms. This role requires a seasoned automation tester with 4-5 years of experience and a strong background in CMS development. The role also includes being on call to support systems after hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the automationand integration testing of new CMS features using Java Spring.

  • Identify and document complex bugs and issues in the system.

  • Ensure the CMS remains on supported versions and complies with security requirements.

  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.

  • Conduct code reviews and enforce best practices in coding and testing.

  • Contribute to the architectural decisions and system design.

  • Design and build load test framework.

  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers.

  • Be on call to support systems after hours as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in Java and Spring framework automation or development.

  • Strong understanding of web technologies and CMS platforms.

  • Experience with agile development methodologies.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Willingness to be on call for after-hours support.
