Job Overview:

he Principal IT Pillar Specialist uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the IT Pillar discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the IT Pillar discipline. They solve complex problems and use their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. Principal IT Pillar Specialist impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the IT Pillar team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Principal IT Pillar Specialist responsible for being a strategic partner with Global Payroll & HRIS owner to help deliver IT solutions that meet business objectives and align with the company blueprint. Subject manager expert in Global Payroll Implementations including Core HR experience. Support Inbound/Outbound Integrations, Data Conversions, Legacy Data Migrations, End to End Testing for payrolls. Experience in Mercan’s Cloud Payroll system ‘HR Blizz’ preferred.

  • Manage Program activities including gathering requirements, designing solutions, configurations, testing, data conversions, integrations, training, documentation, deployment, production support (follow McDermott PMO/Tollgate process and governance)

  • Support/Develop Integration of employee data from HCM to Payroll systems for approx. 20 countries (SAP, JDE, 3rd party system like HR Blizz)

  • Acts as Pillar support for Hypercare/Post go-live for Payroll Business users to the new Payroll Cloud system HR Blizz

  • Have knowledge/understanding of overall Hire To Retire processes

  • Possess high level understanding of HR/Payroll ERP systems such as Taleo, Oracle HCM, SAP, JDE, HR Blizz

  • Have knowledge of reporting and integration tools such as PowerBI, Dell Boomi, Data Lake Azure

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken

  • Must have a positive, can-do attitude, be a problem solver, manage cross functional agendas and get along well with others, be a mentor and supportive to peers and be a partner to the business and leadership

  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership ability

  • Is able to prioritize and balance multiple priorities

  • Demonstrates flexibility regarding change of assignments- focus- priorities and need

Essential Qualifications and Education

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Masters degree a plus

  • HR Blizz experience a plus

  • HR/Payroll Certification (preferred)
