To meet the growing needs of the mobility business, the Protect+ team from Extended Service Business group is looking for a highly motivated, technology focused individual with a passion to work on a collaborative software delivery team to enable the creation and management of Platforms and APIs deployed to the Ford FCSD ecosystem.

The position will be responsible for implementing platform and API solutions.

The candidate for this position must be to function in different roles within the team, from being an anchor, architecting high-skilled software developer and technical team leader, to consultant and product evangelist.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Solutions Architect with a strong background in enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and modern development practices. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced technical degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience. This role requires a strategic thinker who can lead the creation and implementation of robust IT solutions, drive cross-team collaboration, and contribute to enterprise-wide technical discussions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Requirements Gathering : Actively participate in whiteboard sessions to capture and define customer requirements, translating them into actionable IT solutions.

  • Enterprise and Cloud Architecture : Demonstrate a deep understanding of enterprise architecture and cloud reference architecture concepts, with a preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience.

  • Solution Development : Lead the design and implementation of IT solutions to address business and infrastructure needs, based on both functional and non-functional requirements.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration : Engage in technical knowledge sharing forums such as Anchor Engineer meetings, React Common Library discussions, and cloud-based technical forums to promote best practices and innovative solutions.

  • Integrated Testing : Oversee integrated testing efforts across the Enterprise Connectivity ecosystem to ensure comprehensive end-to-end product quality.

  • Product Estimation and Planning : Contribute to product estimation and planning activities, demonstrating flexibility to manage and prioritize changing requirements effectively.

  • Continuous Learning and Pair Programming : Exhibit a passion for continuous learning and a willingness to work in a pair programming environment. Hands-on coding experience is essential.

  • Solution Prototyping : Collaborate with architects to develop prototypes and ensure the interoperability of external and internal systems.

  • Team Leadership and Mentorship : Guide team members to a shared understanding of solutions, and mentor junior team members by explaining complex technical and functional problems and providing solutions.

Preferred Technical Capabilities:

  • Programming Languages : Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for developing enterprise-level applications.

  • Cloud Architecture : Hands-on experience with cloud-based architectures, particularly with GCP.

  • Frontend Technologies : Expertise in React for building dynamic user interfaces.

  • Database Knowledge : Experience with any SQL database, with a preference for PostgreSQL.

Additional Skills (Good to Have):

  • Microfrontend Architecture : Familiarity with microfrontend architecture to support scalable and modular frontend development.

  • Event-Driven Architecture : Understanding of event-driven architecture principles for building responsive and scalable systems.

  • GCP Cloud Knowledge : Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform services and solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field; or an advanced technical degree.

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience or 5 years with an advanced/master degree.

  • Proven experience in enterprise architecture, cloud technologies, and modern development frameworks.
