The primary function of a Block Manager, Production is to Lead the production operations and resources management in their respective blocks, (Ceph, Penicillin or Penem). The overview of the job responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Leading and guiding the line managers by the development and execution of production operations plan for the respective block

  • Manage the block activities and compliance through provision of oversight and guidance.

  • Resources management.

Review/provide feedback and technical/scientific support on any deliverable, i.e. achieving production targets by efficient use of resources.

  • Coordinate with cross functional teams

  • Represent the block in required forums

  • Periodic review and guidance to the team for achieving the block goals Planning

  • resource (machine, manpower and material) planning based on the marketing projections

  • set the production plan in coordination with PPIC based on AOP's

  • set strategic goals for the lines in the block

  • review operations / personnel performance metrics

  • plan for commercial/exhibit batches

  • feasibility study of new products

  • new projects implementation plans

  • coordinate with quality assurance for timely completion of the validations, batch release

  • coordinate with R&D for technology transfers

  • evolve the block deliverables/metrics in coordination with Ops Excellence team

  • Participate and give inputs during AOP regarding the Manpower requirements

  • suggest suitable changes which enhances cost savings Execution

  • ensure un interrupted production by clearing / trouble shooting roadblocks during operations

  • ensure production compliance with protocols/procedures

  • collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure smooth operations

  • ensure that the operations are carried out as per the projected time lines

  • ensure cost effectiveness (cost reduction)

  • cross functional teams communication and readiness during manufacturing

  • evaluate equipment readiness Delivery

  • ensuring timely delivery of the production plan as per the projected AOP

  • driving for online documentation Audit Readiness

  • keep the block any time ready for audit

  • coordinate with the internal and external auditors

  • timely delivery of systems of procedures

  • Timely review of Internal/Regulatory audit responses, Training matrix, Production documents, Compliance

  • approving authority for BMR/BPR protocols, change controls

  • ensure cGMP and GDP on the shop floor

  • ensure procedures are in line with the regulatory guideline requirements

  • ensure 100% on time completion of training

  • on time completion of audit response (regulatory commitment)

  • ER/CAPA closure on time

  • comply to the environmental and safety norms Process / Personnel Capability enhancement
