Expeditors Developer II Operational Experience in Chennai, India

IS Global Service Center (GSC) operating from Chennai, India, is a part of IS supporting Expeditors IT operations. IS GSC has grown to 460+ employees today delivering world class Information services globally. This Product based Strategic Center's IT transformation has delivered a radical change to Expeditors IT manpower profile and skills over the past three years and will continue to deliver services as we continue to grow responsibly in the coming years.

The developer is a key role on a collaborative and agile project team and is responsible for the design and production of our world-class business systems. These systems satisfy customer and organizational business requirements and enable Expeditors to set the standard for excellence in global logistics. The developer understands business problems and opportunities, while applying technical skills to the design, development, and testing of applications and systems. The developer should be able to work on their own without any dependencies and requires a deep understanding of the application.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • At least 5-9 years of professional software development experience

  • Object-oriented programming, analysis, and design.

  • Component-based development with Java 8, Spring, Spring Boot

  • Experience with Maven, Junit, Hibernate/JPA, and IntelliJ IDE

  • Experience with SQL and relational database design/development

  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular

  • Understanding of Agile software development methodologies

  • Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end.

  • Operating systems include UNIX, Linux, Windows

  • Experience with Distributed Systems, REST API design, and Apache Kafka

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design & Analysis and understand interdependencies of various components of the project.

  • Guide and mentor team junior’s members from a technical perspective to ensure quality delivery of the project.

  • Ability to design and code complex programs to ensure better performance.

  • Perform code review for the code developed by the team.

GOOD TO HAVE

  • Experience in Microservices architecture

  • Experience with TypeScript, RxJS, and Jasmine Testing

  • Experience with Event Driven Architecture, Domain Driven Design, CQRS
