Citigroup Controller Technology – Engineering Lead - Chennai in Chennai, India

Global Controllers Technology is seeking an experienced and innovative application Lead to drive the development and implementation of application focusing on modern technologies (GEN AI, Cloud, Analytics) within our organization. In this role, you will leverage your deep technical knowledge to drive the implementation of an ambitious application focusing on Generative AI use cases. You will also be expected to mentor other engineers, share your technical expertise, and promote a culture of technical excellence within the team. An Engineering Lead will serve as an example to other team members, work closely with stakeholders, and remove or escalate roadblocks. You will closely collaborate with cross functional teams including engineers, infrastructure, product managers to create state of an art solutions that aligns to our business objective.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of Generative AI solutions aligning to our business objectives from concept to deployment.

  • Develops technology road maps, while keeping up to date with emerging technologies, and recommends business directions based on these technologies.

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of projects, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and best practices for software solutions.

  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.

  • Demonstrating deep technical knowledge and expertise in software development, including programming languages, frameworks, and best practices. Providing guidance and mentorship to junior team members

  • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Requires evaluative judgment based on analysis of information in complicated or novel situations; uses multiple sources of information.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in Technology implementing scalable solutions using agile methodologies with at least 2 years of technology leadership experience.

  • Proven experience in developing and deploying Complex software solutions in fullstack technologies such as Java, Python, SpringBoot, NodeJs, Angular and SQL.

  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Java.

  • Familiarity with GEN AI technologies (LLMs, DAGs) and frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) will be preferred.

  • Understanding of machine learning, natural language processing and computer vision techniques.

  • Proficient in PL/SQL and Unix Shell scripts. Strong SQL, PL/SQL development and database tuning experience.

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience

  • Master’s degree preferred.
