Chart Industries APAC / India Supply Chain Director (Preferred Location: Chennai, Hyderabad or Hosur) in Chennai, India

Main purpose of job

To lead and develop a high-performing regional supply chain team to support Chart’s business strategy by developing and implementing supply chain strategies to deliver best in class performance in cost, cash, quality & delivery.

Foster a collaborative environment between departments and drive continuous improvement to ensure improved customer service levels and profitability.

Play a comprehensive role in building out regional category strategies, implementing processes, & working with operations to prioritize and execute their procurement needs.

Accountabilities:

Supply Chain Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain function within region and develop long a term improvement strategy.

  • Represent supply chain within the regional executive leadership team to review supply chain performance and ensure the function is enabling the regional business strategy.

  • Collaborate with all Business Units procurement teams (covering 9 locations, 3 Manufacturing + 6 sales/service centres) to drive best in class performance on key KPI’s (cost, cash, quality & delivery) the region.

  • Engage with the sales & application team on new major customer tenders to provide critical inputs on key costs & supply chain decisions.

  • Ensure that all Supply Chain & operating parameters are defined, measured, and controlled at or below budget levels. Continuously strive for efficiencies in operating costs.

  • Collaborate with EU & Amers teams to drive improvement on intercompany delivery performance supplied into the APAC / India region.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners and suppliers, including regular business reviews.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Lead the sourcing team across the region to define the sourcing / category strategy for Direct & Indirect materials and identify opportunities for cross-business collaboration.

  • Lead the supplier quality team to partner with best-in-class suppliers to improve performance, reduce cost of poor quality and align with product units requirements.

  • Establish category focused working groups to develop 3yr sourcing roadmap for all major categories covering 80% of global spend.

  • Develop, implement & sustain an effective operating rhythm driving process efficiency and business results to meet AOP targets.

  • Drive a standard process to facilitate collaboration with product management, engineering, & operations to embed procurement engagement on NPD, VAVE, & localization programs

  • Develop sourcing hub capabilities to support other Chart regions to leverage the India & SEA low-cost supply base. Provide full end to end support, including sourcing, negotiation, supply development & order execution.

Skills, knowledge & behaviours

Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours

  • 10+ years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Supply Chain, Engineering, Sourcing or Operations management

  • Experience in leading multi-site supply chain teams in a complex matrix organisation across multiple geographical locations, understanding the constraints and working culture within them

  • Experience within a project driven Engineer-To-Order (ETO) manufacturing environment

  • Experience in negotiating high-value, complex procurement agreements with Global suppliers

  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills at all levels, written and verbal

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics or related discipline

  • Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and with experience of leading a strategic procurement function, and sizable indirect organisation

  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills with demonstrated experience in negotiating high-dollar, complex procurement agreements

  • Knowledge of general business processes with experience in managing projects globally
