Exercise Role Player (Part-Time)

Job Description: Role players provide students the opportunity to apply learned concepts and to experience situations that will prepare them for what they will face in the line of duty. You will be required to portray characters, memorize background and exercise-critical information for multiple characters, and be able to take feedback and adjust your performance to best support the instructors and the students. You will be required to support many different types of training.

Typical hours of operation are 6 AM to 4 PM, Monday - Friday, though roles may be assigned outside of these hours and on weekends or holidays when required by the customer.

Role players should be local as this position does not include or provide reimbursement for travel expenses.

Schedules are prepared two weeks ahead of each event. OTA collects Role player availability on a monthly basis. Availability must be provided for the coming month no later than 14 days from the start of the coming month. Role players are expected to be available for scheduling for at least 50% of each month's typical hours of operation. Examples of acceptable availability are "every morning," "every afternoon," or "all day for half of the month." Other availability arrangements may be acceptable as long as the Role player is available during at least 50% of the typical hours of operation for each month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Successfully adopt a fictional persona, supplied by OTA, and participate in interviews with students.

  • Simulate various activities during which you will be required to jump, run, crouch, bend, reach, handle lightweight props, lay on the ground, kneel, and stand from a kneeling position.

  • In controlled settings, permit physical searches of your person by students of both the same and the opposite gender.

  • Remain "in role" during training events. Don't break character.

  • Abide by all security, company, and performance policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizen

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Must be able to pass a background check

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen

  • Ability to perform assigned roles in a safe and effective manner

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

  • Maintain personal hygiene and present a neat appearance and wear appropriate clothing

  • Maintain satisfactory standards of competency, conduct, and integrity
