JOB SUMMARY:

  • Manage the day to day activities of the maintenance staff and ensure the quality of work they provide is in adherence to Original Equipment Manufacturers.
  • Be solely responsible for operating, maintaining and teaching the maintenance department about software.
  • Repair and maintain machinery, equipment, buildings, grounds, and facilities, and install new equipment and machinery, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate all equipment and system malfunctions as requested by department managers or supervisors and take appropriate action to repair or have repaired the equipment in a timely manner.
  • Manage the Safety and Environmental regulatory requirements for the location.
  • Support our company's Continuous Improvement philosophy by acting on suggestions employees make to prove concepts and bring to reality those that are approved.
  • Act as our Emergency Coordinator in the event of a serious incident like fire, tornado, or other disaster. Be knowledgeable of all Safety procedures surrounding these events and interact with outside entities like fire, police, and local government.
  • Gain technical competency and current knowledge of the various systems in the company, including but not limited to electrical (plant and equipment), plumbing, HVAC, fire alarm, sprinkler and waste treatment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on bailer, material handling equipment, and others as assigned.
  • Build, install and/or assist in installation of modifications, new equipment and/or plant expansions.
  • Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
  • Keep a detailed record of all equipment repairs.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining parts inventory.
  • Maintain departmental housekeeping standards with tools, materials, and related equipment.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or General Plant Supervisors.
  • Provide leadership and act as a mentor as required to put team performance first.
  • Discuss and communicate with the maintenance supervisor the planning, developing, and implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimizing operating cost, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
  • Be a resource for maintenance technicians by leading them through tasks, with previous experiences, and repetitive breakdowns and repairs.
  • Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE's, Ergonomics, and etc.
  • Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
  • Assist with housekeeping in the Maintenance area.
  • Other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school Diploma or general education degree (GED); or related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.

Three to four years in a related field

Requires the ability to read and work from blueprints, schematics and diagrams

Basic welding, woodworking, carpentry, and fabrication skills.

Ability to operate forklift trucks and other material handling equipment.

Excellent mechanical and electrical skills.<
