Kayem Foods, Inc. Blender Operator - Old Kitchen - 2nd shift in Chelsea, Massachusetts

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the blending of all Old Kitchen products, in a timely, productive manner, delivering quality results.

  • Visually monitors raw materials for any deviations from the norm

  • Checks all meat and spices against written formulas

  • Identifies all product ingredients labels

  • Verifies meat weight and types

  • Assembles and starts blender and/or grinder equipment and observes operation to detect anything faulty

  • Follows blending and grinding procedures as outlined in product formulation

  • Communicates deviations to set parameters to Team Leader or Supervisor

  • Responsible for documenting all process and productivity information

  • Eliminates contact between shipping containers and meat

  • Stops production line as needed, seeking immediate assistance to correct problems

  • Assists new employees and trainees in learning proper methods and procedures in areas

  • Maintains clean, sanitary, and safe work practices, tools, and areas, including performing lockout/tagout as required; discards general trash

  • Maintain and comply with all HAACP, OSHA, USDA, SSOP, and GMP requirements

  • Be willing to cross-train in all duties and areas of the Old Kitchen department

  • Must work closely with Team Leader to coordinate proper amount of product for stuffers

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondences, and memos in English

  • Must have basic mathematical skills

  • Capable of regularly lifting and /or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift or move up to 75 lbs.

  • Ability to work on production floor; a wet, cold, and loud environment

  • Previous food manufacturing experience a plus
