Kelly Services Receptionist/Switchboard in Chelmsford, Massachusetts

At Kelly ® Professional & Industrial, we’re passionate about helping you find a job that works for you. We’re seeking an Receptionist/Switchboard to work at a company in Chelmsford, M. With us, it’s all about finding the job that’s just right.

Hours 7:00am–3:30pm

Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Responsibilities for a Receptionist/Switchboard:

  • Process light incoming and internal telephone and in person traffic.

  • Greet visitors to the facility and assist them in contacting the proper party.

  • Advise visitors of safety regulations, ensure that visitors sign in and out, verify identification and assign badges.

  • Maintain badge logs, advising security of need to activate and deactivate.

  • Backup to facility manager to submit maintenance requests forwarded by employees.

  • Update / maintain contractor safety database • Assign training / track completion / escalate incomplete training

  • Create PO’s and Order supplies

  • Back up shipping function occasionally

  • Site conference room and kitchenette concierge

  • Maintenance of good attendance/on time arrival is a condition of employment and an essential function of the role

  • Effective receptionist skills, techniques and demeanor.

  • Ability to make appropriate and effective use of oral and written English to communicate, cooperate and negotiate with diverse individuals and groups. •

  • Ability to engage in cooperative and responsible behavior, which affects the operation of the department and the company in a positive manner. •

  • Strong organizational skills

  • The ability to multi-task and to efficiently complete a series of tasks with minimal instruction.

  • Schedules meeting rooms

  • Answers and transfers calls from all over the United States.

  • Participates enthusiastically in company and community service events.

  • Performs light Administrative duties.

  • Builds professional relationships with customers and other teams.

  • Assists Administration or any other team when needed for various tasks (envelope labels, compiling manuals, etc).

  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • High school level education.

  • Minimum of three years of administrative experience.

  • Computer operation and data entry skills.

  • Software experience to include Microsoft Office and Outlook. SAP and Workday desirable.

  • Perform in a senior level capacity to create and maintain a professional image of the company by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service to visitors, guest employees, telephone callers, taking and relaying messages.

  • There is no extensive walking, standing or lifting. No lifting at all. Someone with experience in call center or receptionist.

  • Dress Code is Business casual. No tennis shoes allowed!
